North Western Laboratories Ltd. was established in 1983 as an independent veterinary laboratory providing diagnostic and clinical pathology services for veterinary surgeons throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. In 2002 the laboratory became part of the Dechra Pharmaceuticals Group.

On 1st April 2003 North Western Laboratories Ltd changed its trading style to Nationwide Laboratories and will be known as NWL. 

Nationwide Laboratories is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with a commitment to quality of service through proficiency testing and rigorous quality assessment and assurance. Nationwide Laboratories at Poulton is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory (No. 1733).

In April 2007, NationWide Laboratories acquired Leeds Veterinary Laboratories Ltd. The Leeds site is UKAS accredited testing laboratory (No. 2529).

The laboratory offers over 600 test options across the full range of clinical pathology disciplines. 

In addition to our regular mail service the laboratory offers a local same day and a nationwide next day courier service and a collection service for National Veterinary Services customers through the NVS delivery vehicle network. Please enquire for further information.
